NL TALK: 5 Indigenous Rappers Who Fell Out With Their Record Label & Nowhere To Be Found Now (See List)

The music industry is not easy as many people think, to blow in the Nigerian music industry requires more than talent, it involves the right management and, perhaps, luck.
In the light of this, we will be talking about top 5 indigenous rappers who didn’t live up to expectations.

1. Ola Dips

Before being signed into Reminisce’s LRR record label, Ola Dips has been releasing dope tracks laced with good rhymes and rhythm. After he was signed, many people believe that the vibrant rapper will be the next big thing in the music industry, however things didn’t go as planned, Ola Dips was only able to have only one hit track (Lalakukulala)after spending close to 3 years with Reminisce.

He left the record label and released a freestyle track where he talked about all his struggles in the label. Check out the video below:

2. Davolee

When Davolee got featured on the Pepper Dem track, people’s mouth was left agape. His flows, bars and story telling rap style got everyone talking.

However, the only hit track Davolee also had while in YBNL, was Cirocing. Few years after signing, Davolee left the YBNL record label to stand up on his own. On the part 4 of Festival Bar EP, Davolee revealed what happened and why he left Olamide’s YBNL.

3. Picazzo

Picazzo Rhap was among the Instagram sensation, together with his close friend Ayojhay. After he was signed to YBNL, as usual, many believe that he will become a world-celebrated rapper due to his ability to vibe and rap to any song. However, things didn’t go as planned, Picazzo Rhap also left YBNL. Listen to his single below

4. Yomi Blaze

Picazzo Rhap and Yomiblaze were signed to YBNL just 24 hours apart. After leaving the record label, nothing much has been heard about Yomiblaze. Check out his collaboration with Olamide below:

5. Viktoh

Viktoh and Lil Kesh were signed the same day to Olamide’s YBNL. Lil Kesh went on to do great things at YBNL, however, Viktoh didn’t live up to expectations and soon after he left the record label. Checkout one of his hit song here:
