Naira Marley’s “God’s Timing’s The Best” Album Is NOT Good!!!

Years after his debut hit single, popular Nigerian singer, Naira Marley has dropped his debut album titled, “God’s Timing’s The Best.”
Even though the album’s title is amazing, many music lovers are of the opinion that the album is not that good.

Mayorkun, Zinoleesky, Jada Kingdom, Lil Kesh, Mohbad, Busiswa, and others are among the guests who integrated themselves into his world across the 14-track album.

The album also includes previously released singles including the Busiswa-assisted “Coming,” “First Time In America,” “Kojossese,” and the Zinoleesky-featuring “O’dun.”

Although the line-up of featured artists looks great, NaijaLoaded‘s Joy Denis opined that the first mistake made with the album was the poor PR/promotion job and the release day (a Monday… Like what???). She wrote;

Aside from dropping the album without any form of promotion and with a shabby rollout, another decision he made that has got people talking is releasing the album on a Monday. Who does that?

In the industry, artists drop albums on Fridays and while many people would like to do as they want, there is a reason for that.

The reason for the Friday releases is because that’s when the Billboard starts tracking for a new week. Not dropping your album on Friday limits what the Billboard can track.

For me, only three tracks made sense in the album. After listening to the album, I had a combination of emotions, owing to a repetitive regurgitation of sound and material throughout the record. Could this be due to the fact that I am not a Naira Marley’s fan?

The album doesn’t give much in terms of the kind of attention-getting songs he’s capable of. Naira Marley just didn’t shine through for me. I didn’t feel him. The album is “Meh.”

Well, maybe listening to the song several times over will change one’s mind, however, since I am not a Marlian, I don’t think I’d listen to it again.

What do you think?
